Project Description:

Multistate I-15 Dynamic Mobility Project (I-15 DMP) seeks to obtain, exchange, and disseminate real-time data on all segments of I-15 and all modes, to create a seamless ITS backbone from San Diego, CA, to the Utah/Idaho border.

Project Benefits:
  • Fill the rural data gaps
  • Provide the freight industry with cost/time saving information, when they need it and how they want it
  • Improve public pre-trip and en route traveler information for the corridor
  • Improve interstate cooperation on ITS planning, ITS operations, and sharing of best practices

The I-15 Mobility Alliance was selected as one of six Corridor Coalitions nationwide to receive $1,250,000 funding under the Multistate Corridor Operations and Management (MCOM) Program. This funding will help to execute and accelerate the delivery of the I-15 Dynamic Mobility Project and continue to bring national attention to this critical corridor.

The I-15 Mobility Alliance has identified an immediate need to improve real-time information exchange between the states and population centers in the corridor, and improve traveler information with an emphasis on service to the long distance interregional traveler and freight industry. Through the Multistate I-15 Dynamic Mobility Project, the I-15 Mobility Alliance will build a seamless communication backbone from San Diego to the Northern Utah Border. This backbone will improve the accuracy and immediacy of corridor-wide information and eventually help establish a connected vehicle corridor where freight movers receive regular updates that keep the economy on track, trucks and cars receive updates when approaching work zones, information on hazardous road and weather conditions are provided, and all travelers will eventually receive updates providing sustainable transportation options based on real-time data.
